OVERVIEW

SYNOPSIS

Mama Wata is the goddess of the sea who gives riches to Sierra Leone. The Bay of Goderich (Freetown) has received as a gift the abundance of fish in its waters. Idrissa, a fisherman of that community, knows that although he has the help of the goddess, he must fight against the big foreign ships, the illegal fishing and the use of cayucos by the drug traffickers. Those fish donated by Mama Wata guarantee that the fishmonger Memuna can support her ten children. She, like other women in the community, has seen her husband leave her without looking back.
